“IoT” – Internet of Things
Internet of Things (IoT) refers to the growing number and types of devices that connect to the internet and access and share data with other devices and systems. Traditionally this included computers, laptops, tablets and smartphones, however the field is expanding to include an ever growing list of other devices such as home appliances, automobiles, and wearable technology. IoT devices connect to the internet via a wired or wireless network connection, but most of the newer IoT devices connect to the internet wirelessly via Wi-Fi.
